“THE JOURNEY” is the theme chosen for the eighth edition of the contemporary art collective “The Red Thread”, conceived and promoted by the Nenè cultural association, sponsored by the Puglia Region, the Province of Lecce and the Municipality of Specchia.

The vernissage will be held on Saturday 27 July 2024 at 8.30 pm and then the exhibition will be visible until 10 August 2024 from 9 pm to midnight.

The exhibition, which will be set up like every year in Palazzo Risolo, in the main square of the Municipality of Specchia, will see the participation of 49 national-level artists called to interpret the theme of this edition: “the journey”. A peculiarity of the collective, unique in its kind in southern Italy, is precisely the presence of contemporary artists who express themselves freely on a theme. There is no stylistic rule to follow: each of them can express themselves as they wish, this also allows them to offer the public the widest and most varied spectrum of techniques and expressive ways of contemporary art.

The explanation of the theme by the curator, Viviana Cazzato:

THE JOURNEY

The journey in all its possible interpretations: a real, fantastic, metaphorical or internal journey.

Le Fil Rouge 2024 will be all female, a collection of 49 women who have crossed my artistic and personal life, meetings, bonds consolidated over the years or recently, it doesn't matter, it will be a collection of souls, one different from the other, with different forms of expression: painters, sculptors, photographers, performers; this will be le Fil Rouge 2024.

These are my ignorant fairies.

"The ignorant fairies are the ones we meet and don't recognise, but who change our lives. They are not the ones in fairy tales, because they tell some lies. They are ignorant, explicit, even heavy at times. But they don't lie about their feelings. The ignorant fairies are all those who live in the open, who live their feelings, and are not afraid to express them. They are the people who speak bluntly, who live their own contradictions and who ignore strategies. They often pass for ignorant, because they seem rude, and intrusive due to their lack of good manners, they are also very often fairies, because they are capable of performing the miracle of overwhelming us.

The Red Thread

The contemporary pictorial art collective, now in its eighth edition, owes its name to the legend spread in Japan about a red thread on the little fingers of two people, soul mates, united from birth by a bond that will never be broken. And this is what keeps Viviana Cazzato, Presccese artist and curator of the exhibition, president of the Nenè association close to her, linked to all the artists who are chosen every year, creating a relationship based on esteem, trust and respect.

The new exhibition season of the ranarossa Gallery will start from 10 February 2024 with the second edition of the collective exhibition entitled RESPIRO.
The breath of the earth, the breath of the sea, the breath of life, everything that lives breathes.
And so let's talk about nature, the environment, ecology, seas and glaciers, birth and death, let's talk about life, BREATH is LIFE, it is the principle.
Impalpable, invisible, silent that of nature, we can hear it in the wind, figure among the leaves or in a flutter of wings..
Ours can be light or deep, long, short, but it is still that breath that we don't pay attention to, and which instead, together with the heartbeat, keeps us alive, accompanies our lives, and abandons us only at the end of our existence.
Breath is the beginning and the end.
It marks our time, it has its own rhythm, like the heart.
We breathe deeply to relax, to concentrate, we can take a breath of relief and feel better, or on the contrary, anguish, fear make us hold our breath.
Present, past and future, breath envelops us, permeates us, it is present everywhere, philosophy, science, literature, poetry.
The music, for example, is full of breaths, as for Battisti and Mogol "Loving yourself a little is breathing", Pink Floyd in Breathe in the air, "breathe in the air and don't be afraid to take care of something" where the breathing can be a return to life through empathy, and again "Stay with me.. Let's just breathe" in Just Breathe by Pearl Jam or Sergio Cammariere who sings "And I can't breathe if you leave", Renato Zero in Friend "you and I breathe the same" or Celentano "while there in the center I breathe the concrete" in The Boy on Via Gluck who already mentioned ecological problems..

THE 5TH BIENNIAL OF CONTEMPORARY ART OF SALERNO

From 21 October to 05 November 2023, Palazzo Fruscione opens its doors to the fifth Biennial of Contemporary Art of Salerno, attracting artists from all over the world.
Curated this year by Giuseppe Gorga, who founded it with Olga Marciano, the Biennale is an unmissable event for art and an attraction for artists from all over the world.
There are 220 works participating in the exhibition, with more than 50 works on video display, in a rich and varied representation of the chosen theme entitled “INSIDE.”
An invitation to introspection and in-depth analysis which, in times that burn in a like on social media, represent the other point of view. In fact, art conveys those cultural and human values ​​that current events often obscure or empty of meaning.
The biennial is a window into the inner world of the artist, an exceptional witness and protagonist of his own individuality, for a creative and peculiar artistic vision.
Inside is the disintegration of the whole, it is isolation, it is reflection, it is existential interiority.
The recomposition of the many points of view, through the exhibition of paintings, sculptures and art objects, will be the mosaic from which to recover the overall vision to restructure the emotional and cognitive fraying of the contemporary.
